When browsing the crafting table recipes in survival mode, the names of wooden planks, melon seeds and dyes all appear in the form item.dyePowder.name etc.
Also, the wooden slabs appear at the bottom of the first menu, below all the different colours of wool. Not near the top in the wood section where it should be.
