Mobs, tamed mobs and hostile mobs will despawned and be deleted from the game whenever someone leaves for The Nether or The End. Happens on both Realms and Offline, most likely near spawn area or wherever the portals are active. Happens often in a perimeter of 3-4 chunks around the portal.
