Space / Jump fail (12/8/24).
I use a Samsung Tablet with wireless mouse and keyboard. The key binding for jump is the 'space bar'.
How to trigger it. (Current set up.)
I open a UI that has a text box with. If I click into it or type to trigger the text box. It does not matter the UI. From searching the crafting table to entering a command. All of the UIs that have a text space even outside a world, eg searching the market place.
What happens after the text box has been triggered.
The space bar is not recognized after a text box is triggered. This causes me not to have the ability to jump using the 'space bar' as a keybinding.
When using a text box after the box has been triggered I can return to the world and in the world I can use another or same text box and can type normaly.
Example: I open the command and 'setworldspawn', I return to the world not able to jump. Afterward I can interact with a crafting table and can search for a 'redstone repeater' to craft, the functionality to type remains usuable.
How I do remedy the issue or fix the problem.
I can change the key binding to a different button such as the 'V' button. (not comfortable for big hands)
The ultimate fix until a text box is triggered again is to close the 'Minecraft App". When I open the app again I can use the space bar once more.
P.S.
I did switch to the touch screen controls to see if they still worked. They work just as intended.
I do wonder if there is a setting that might be conflicting somewhere. For some reason I don't remember I did have the options for messaging people in a world turned off. I don't know the setting off hand. I will look into this. If it makes any differences I will post it here.
