Using the /fill command to create a wall of Portal blocks (the purple nether portal blocks) no longer works, when it used to in previous updates.
Steps to reproduce:
- Run /fill ~1 ~1 ~1 ~1 ~5 ~1 portal
Observed result:
The portal blocks instantly break (unless it is a single one on it's own) accompanied by a glass breaking noise.
Expected result:
The portal blocks don't instantly break upon placing them with /fill.
Note: If you fill a single portal block, it will spawn, but it will be rotated the wrong way.
Temporary Fix:
For now, you can place portal blocks by using the setblock command, but you need to do it one by one, which is a very tedious way to do it depending on how large you want the portal to be.
Reasons to fix ASAP:
Map creators cannot utilize the effects of a giant portal in their worlds/creations, and create a portal with ease in a single command. It also prevents players from making custom portal shapes that don't follow the Minecraft rules of the strict square/rectangle border of portal frames.
