This is a problem I have had on a number of worlds now. Worlds that have not been opened in a very long time (prior to alpha 0.9.0, which released in July 2014) do not load properly and cause the game to crash. Sometimes the world will load, but crashes quickly upon loading in, or upon saving.
The world will also crash if you press the 'Make Infinite!' button. A [world name]-old is created, but loading either one crashes the game, either immediately or shortly after the world renders (see image for strange rendering that occasionally happens when the world does load)
I believe this bug is likely related to MCPE-130640.
Steps to reproduce:
- Download the attached world (My World–.zip), or use any other world not opened since pre-0.9.0
- Try to load or "Make Infinite" the world.
Expected behaviour:
- The world will load successfully.
Actual behaviour:
- The game crashes, usually before the world loads, but sometimes a few seconds after.
- If trying to make the world infinite, a "[world name]-old" is created, but loading either that or the converted version crashes the game in the same way.
This is quite a severe bug, as it renders all worlds not opened since the 0.9.0 update unplayable.
I have found this bug on both Windows 10 and Android.
