I was playing with my friends on multiplayer (it was my world, completely vanilla) yesterday and i died a couple of times and this bug both happened. When I died, my items look to be floating in mid-air around the spot of the death but can't pick them up, but when walking around the area of death you seem to picking up invisible items that are floating and then disappearing after you pick them up. My friends could not see this bug and just saw items scattered everywhere, not floating and when they picked up the items, the items floating also disappear. I'd admit this was useful in finding all my items when I died because I could visually see what items were left, but not being able to see where they all actually dropped was a pain for me when my friends could see where the items actually dropped.
