Issue
Snow layers randomly disappear and reappear when reloading a world.
Details
I have a survival world in the current version 1.20.41. I have set up in a cold biome; being in a cold biome, it occasionally snows and leaves snow everywhere. I've not touched this, so it has raised quite a bit (up to a full block). Upon reloading the world, all the snow had returned to a single layer of snow (as if I had never been around). When loading the world again today, the snow has returned to its full block state in almost all areas. I'm not entirely sure what is causing the snow to behave this way.
Steps to reproduce
Not entirely sure. I set up a base in a cold biome and reloading the world caused the snow to disappear (become a single layer of snow) and reappear (back to how it was).
Expected Outcome
Snow layers will remain in the state they were before leaving the world
Actual Outcome
Snow layers occasionally swap between a single layer and their original state before the world was unloaded
