A bug with the inventory screen is causing items to drop out of the inventory. When interacting with items in the inventory screen, the expected behavior is that tapping on an item will highlight it with a thicker border. This item can then be moved to a different spot in the inventory or to a chest by tapping on the designated square. Items can also swap locations in this manner. Items should only be dropped from the inventory screen when tapping outside the inventory area with an item selected.

The current behavior is that when any item is tapped on in the inventory screen (in the hotbar, inventory or chest) the item will be dropped out of the inventory. As a result, rearranging the inventory to one's liking is very difficult. This also results in the game being very difficult to play since items can't be moved into chests.
This issue was encountered on an iPhone 15 Pro Max running on iOS 17.1 on the latest public release of Minecraft. No resource or behavior packs were in use when this bug was encountered.
