For some reason, the game's ui, mainly in menus, becomes increasingly slower over time, most noticeably when going into submenus, such as the "settings" menu or "edit world" menu. This can make the game nearly impossible to play in some instances, for example:

When opening the settings menu from the pause menu while in a world, the game would freeze, however the world itself still runs in the background. Upon the game becoming responsive again, the client would jump ahead to match the server. The biggest issue is that the player can be killed while they have no control of the game, and since the game is not updated accordingly until the ui is no longer unresponsive, the player would not know until the game unfreezes. This would be completely unfair and would ruin the experience of the game.

At the current moment, and to the best of my knowledge, there is no reliable method to replicate this issue. This issue seems to be something that occurs gradually over a period of time. Additionally, I have no information as to whether or not this issue persists on other platforms. However, I have concluded that this could be something caused by the game itself, as things such as the following do not contribute to this bug in a significant way.

      1. Number of worlds saved on the device
      2. Size of worlds
      3. Addon packs of any size (resource and behavior)
      4. Marketplace purchases and downloaded content from the marketplace.

Note: Clearing excess worlds and packs does improve performance slightly, but the difference is too small to be reliable.

The PC this was experienced on has a Intel i9-12900H 2.5GHZ processor, 16gb of ram, and a Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti graphics card.

A unlisted video comparing a 5 month old install of the game and a completely fresh install can be found right here Please note that the recording pauses at many places to allow all menu inputs to be shown in sync to the frame.

At this time, the only way I could truly resolve the issue was to completely uninstall and reinstall the game, which is not realistic for casual play.

The fix for this issue being to reinstall the game, makes me believe that this may be something related to logs or data that the game handles and stores either internally, or on the local device. However I do not have a way to determine this at the moment.

If I get any additional information or become aware of something I missed in relation to this issue, I will update this accordingly.
