If you're in your house a creeper will still blow up even if it didn't see you. Tested with stone, wood planks, and bedrock. If the creeper is near you it will blow. Simple to reproduce. Just encase yourself in blocks have a creeper outside. Easiest to do the building in creative once encased change gamemode to survival.
