Played for hours over two days with no lag, then game crashed and console forced an update, now it’s unplayable.

      Timeline:

      • Created new world
      • Joined in two more players, making three on split screen
      • Explored, built and collected, including approx 30 mobs in a farm
      • Signed off for the night
      • Log back in next day, same three people
      • Moved to a new base
      • Explored, found a chasm and began to mine
      • 5pm: Game crashes with error message ‘unexpected error’ or similar
      • Try to reload but forced update to 1.20.12
      • Run the update
      • Load world, join all three again

At this point it became very apparent that the game was unplayable- lagging and glitching, resulting in random deaths and destruction. The hours of play on the new island had been wiped- seemingly it had restored a much earlier autosave, despite not logging out during the day.

Tried restoring previous version but to no avail. Not allowed to play without updating, despite it being offline and just using a game card.

It’s extremely frustrating because we have played for hours with absolutely no issue on an older version (a version that was prior to the added texture packs being introduced- many versions old) and this is the state we would be happy with. If updates will be made obligatory on the Nintendo Switch, it’s surely imperative that they function?
