When bringing a villager to the nether and placing in a boat, when a player breaks a boat, the villager disappears completely. This is reproduceable on my minecraft realm over and over. 

Entering and exiting the nether doesn't change the behaviour. It doesn't matter which villager I take out of a boat, the villager immediately disappears.
