After connecting my new Xbox Elite 2 Controller to my Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus, I notice the controller cursor will more than occasionally snap to different areas in the inventory screen while scrolling with the left stick.  For example, clicking downward from my first slot towards my hotbar will snap the cursor to my chestplate instead of resulting in the first slot in my hotbar.  My current work-around is to use the d-pad, but I do not recall running into this issue before updating the app to 1.19.80 but this is also a brand-new out-of-the box controller and has been fully updated firmware.
