I play primarily in VR using a Quest 2 via Link cable and a copy of Minecraft Bedrock purchased through the microsoft store. I've been playing a lot lately and the last time i played was about 10 hours ago without any issue. I went to bed and when i got up today, Oculus had an update for the software that i accepted, upon rebooting and opening the Minecraft VR game via the Oculus library, it stopped working.

What happens is the usual launch, I open 'Minecraft' and it starts the software, im brought to a 3D screen with info on how to install the game, allow other sources, etc. which i always skip through, it then opens the other app that has a dirt block as an icon (Minecraft UWP), and the game works.

This time however, i opened the game like usual and skipped through the menu, it attempts to open Minecraft UWP like normal but i get a black screen and it freezes. I go into desktop view mode and see a new app on my taskbar is there which is MinecraftLauncher.exe or something, completely frozen and doesnt respond, after about 4 minutes it crashes. When I click on the black screen, it pops up an error message that reads MinecraftWindows10EditionLauncher is not responding.

My attempts at fixing thus far have been full resets of my PC and headset, uninstalling the minecraft VR app from oculus, and even making a shortcut that goes directly to opening Minecraft VR. The last option looked like it would work, i clicked the shortcut and it opens up a black screen, but it crashes after a few seconds. This happens with or without my headset on and with or without the Oculus version of the app installed.

I am almost certain it is Oculus's fault and they broke something with their update, My Minecraft not only works just fine outside of VR, but it worked fine last night when i played it last and has worked all week. I'm currently 'repairing' the Oculus app though i dont know what good that will do, My next troubleshooting attempt will be a full reinstall of Minecraft from the windows store and if all else fails, I'll have to reinstall Windows entirely which i really hope I dont have to do.

I've spent all night trying to fix it and haven't succeeded which is making me think the update did break it. It might be on Oculus's side but Minecraft's VR team will most likely need to fix this as v49 begins to roll out to everyone.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with Minecraft VR via Oculus? If others are experiencing it, that will mean it is out of my hands and will have to be fixed on either Mojang's side, by Microsoft, or by Oculus. Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just an issue that will be fixed, Thank you.   <3
