So, I was in a world with my girlfriend mining in the nether, we have systems of tunnels built to take us to specific biomes. So anyways, we had just mined out this whole tunnel and took a sharp right because we noticed we had been mining close to another tunnel that was heading the same direction. We took a right turn and headed down further and further until we reached a nether fortress. We killed mobs, looted, and decided to go back home. As we made our way back through the tunnel, we ran into a wall, as if the tunnel had been covered. We were not sure if we had missed a turn or accidentally covered our tunnel. We searched for a way out and after a while of finding nothing, I mined straight with the hallway we had and made it to a little area that we had previously already mined through to make for the same tunnel. So then we went into the other tunnel close by and ran to the portal, and once we got there, the tunnel we had originally made that lead to where we had gotten stuck at was completely filled in and gone, as if we had never mined it to begin with. Then we noticed that where we had recently filled in a big whole near our portal, it was back to normal. Also, all of our blocks, quartz, and gold we had from mining to make these now non-existent tunnels was still in our inventory. I don't think this could have possibly been lag, as we would have possibly teleported back or not had the loot and XP gained. Also, a decent chunk of the tunnel that got filled in was still there from when we made it to the nether fortress. I've never experienced something like this, it just seemed like all of the progress we made at some point was trimmed like a video clip.
