An entire cast of new default characters, and an updated Alex & Steve have been introduced in this beta. However, they're made with the character creator, even though they were all based on skins. This causes a bunch of visual issues and mismatches, some more severe than others.
Common issues within all of them:
- Less saturated skin and hair;
- Loss of skin detail, mainly around the forehead;
- Inconsistent contrast between different shades of the same color.
Character specific issues:
- Alex: Doesn't match the updated Java Edition design in the skin details, pants and boots, skin color is too light.
- Noor: Skin tone is too grayish, eyes aren't dark enough;
- Ari: Skin tone looks sunburnt;
- Sunny: Skin tone is too dark and reddish ("Medium light - Deep" skin tone would be more accurate);
- Makena: Skin tone is bordering gray, mouth is reddish;
- Efe: Mostly the common general issues;
- Zuri: Most severe case of loss of skin detail, brighter skin shades are desaturated and have too little contrast.
- Kai: Mostly the common general issues;
- Steve: Doesn't match the updated Java Edition design at all.
