When transitioning through a nether portal, the game times out at the "building terrain" screen and there is no other option but to exit the game to fix it. When I log back in, I'm deposited in a seemingly random location in the world/nether (often not near a nether portal). Once this caused me to fall through the world and I lost all my items.
