BLOCKS CREATE PILLAR WHEN PLACING SIDEWAYS

When I place block and continue walking on moving pistons, I make the block placing motion but don't place a block in the correct location. Instead, the block places above the first block placed. This creates a pillar when I am not anywhere near it. I play on windows 11 PC. See video in attachments.

      1. Create piston line attached to observer clock so they keep moving
      2. Place blocks in front of them
      3. Stand on those blocks and place one at first piston
      4. Continue holding down right click while strafing left or right
      5. This should create block placing motion while no block are being placed
      6. A pillar is created at location of first block
      7. Setup is shown in video

Pistons may not be necessary and block placement like this may occur in other circumstances.
