When I was walking in my world, I came upon a 2x2 I made of water. It started showing animations of it breaking. Once it broke, it reformed and kept doing it over and over again. The ice does not form all at the same time when loaded. I realized that if you are about 10 blocks away it either slows down or stops. When you get near it, the ice starts forming rapidly. The ice texture is also different than a player breaking it. After making this post, a block of running water spawned over the water and started forming into ice. When I walked towards it, it stopped. Whenever I stop moving, the ice stops forming. The y-coordinate is 96. After that, the water broke and flowed to different areas. It’s now spreading and a large he part of my base is now randomly forming and breaking ice over water.
