Sandstone and Red Sandstone slabs appear darker than their full size counterparts. Issue has been persistent throughout history of Bedrock edition. The slab color difference becomes even more pronounced when the blocks are exposed to light sources. Launching old versions of Minecraft does not display this issue.

Additionally, attempting to place many slabs at a time while moving no longer works. This happens when both moving directly backwards and going from side to side. This makes building with Sandstone slabs very slow and tiring, especially when trying to create slightly raised rooftops and other similar structures.. Launching old versions of Minecraft also does not display this issue.
