If a coal block in top of a mountain is destroyed it doesn't drop an ore as expected. Instead it drops a mini version of the coal block ( Check Screenshot).  

 When I did the same in the cave inside the mountain the coal ore drops properly. Happens in between a swamp and a Savannah biome.
