When I got the 1.18 Minecraft update on my Nintendo Switch, I made a copy of a world, which was created with the Old world type, and I converted it to an infinite world to see how 1.18 generation would affect my world. However, once the world was converted to infinite, the new height limits were not applied to my world. In both previously loaded and unloaded chunks, caves were also not able to generate below y-level 0.
