I created this world a few months ago with one of the 1.17 betas. Most of my world is unexplored so far, one day I noticed a giant ice spike in the distance which wasn't there before.

It looks like some or all unexplored chunk biomes have been replaced. There's so much icy biomes around me... swamps, plains, even a mesa replaced by snowy/ice biomes.

The best evidence I can find is that some generated structures aren't where they are meant to be. I used the /locate function to find a desert temple, and as you can see the coordinates point to a swamp next to snow - no desert in sight.

I'm guessing these coordinates pointed to a desert biome prior to 1.18.0.24 which I know is the beta update that replaced biomes.
