I placed a sign on a fencepost and tried to write stylized text beginning with symbol characters (underscores to be exact).  When I dismissed the editor, the sign removed all new line returns from the final rendering.

STEPS to REPRODUCE:

1. Place sign
2. Type in 7 underscore characters.
3. Press Enter key
4. Type in text "MENDING"
5. Press Enter key
6. Type in 6 tilde character.
7. Press Esc key.
8. Expected:

_______
MENDING
~~~~~~

Error Observed:

_______MENDING
~~~~~~
