taking significant damage from pillaring upward (jump and place a block, rince and repeat)

      i have experienced this bug a few times whereby when I'm building upward in the classic 1x1 fashion, I'll take damage. it'll range from 3 damage points all the way to death. there are no other forces that could inflict this damage within the surrounding area. pls help. thanks.
