I started a survival world with the experimental "caves and cliffs" setting active with a bonus chest and could not find the chest anywhere. I just found it in a cave at y-coordinate -47. Obviously a starting chest should not 'spawn' at this level. It's a small bug but one that should be fixed before the final release of the new generation.
