If you make an end portal higher then normal ones spawn and go in it in survival or adventure mode you will take fall damage depending on high how you were in the overworld (So if the end portal was at y100 and you spawned in the end at y50 you would take about 50 blocks of fall damage) works in superflat and infinite.
