When my friend and I went through the end portal back into the overworld, it would say that we died and we respawn back at our set spawn points, although there would be no death screen and we would lose all our items, and it would say we fell from a high place. Our items were not in the end near the portal, and they were not by our spawns in the overworld. We also went back to world spawn and our items were not there.
