When purchasing ink sacs from a wandering trader, they will not stack with ink sacs acquired from hunting regular squids, and also other ink sacs purchased from other wandering traders. The most you can purchase per trader is 36, however you can not stack these 36 with other ink sacs. You can split the 36 and restack those ones, but not any other sacs.
