On Minecraft for my iPad Pro, the video options display render distances up to 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, and 48 chunks.   Up to 8 and 16 chunks works normally; however, when I try to use render distance of 24 chunks and above, it acts differently.  I can see the faint silhouette of chunks/terrain beyond 16 chunks, but only up to 16 chunks does it actually really show parts of the world.  I have found this odd and mildly disappointing as I hoped to take advantage of the higher render distance.

I currently have a shader pack on; however, even removing this shader does not fix the issue.  I am not sure why this is happening.  I will attach a screenshot; in it I set my render distance to 40 chunks, but stuff I have built beyond 16 chunks is only faintly silhouetted by the game.

If anyone knows why this is happening, if it is a bug I can fix or which will need to be fixed elsewhere - please feel free to discuss.
