      Candles on Bedrock Edition currently cannot be placed on blocks where on Java can, such as:

      • Chorus Flower
      • Azalea and Flowering Azalea
      • Fences
      • Fence Gates
      • Walls
      • End Rod
      • Iron Bars
      • Glass Panes
      • Anvil
      • Grindstone
      • Bell
      • Trapdoors
      • Piston and Sticky Piston
      • Shulker Boxes

      Original Description
      When you try to place the candles on top of the lightning rod, it just doesn't work, unlike what Java Edition behaves.
