My son has been playing Minecraft for about two years on his Switch without issue, but the last few weeks it has been failing to load his user profile (with all his progress saved to the cloud). This is the only profile that he plays Minecraft with.

The last week the profile would not load at all. It hangs at the red loading screen with Mojang, and stops at about 50% on the progress bar. 

We thought it might be the game cartridge that was faulty, so I cleaned it with electrical contact cleaner.  No change.

We updated the Switch and Minecraft software. No change.

I turned off auto save data. No change.

I run a system check for corrupt data. No change.

I assumed it must be the game so purchased a digital copy of Minecraft. Still no change.

I then tried loading the game with one of the other Switch user profiles (which have never been used before) and the game loaded almost instantly.  (I wish I had tried that before buying another copy.)

My son can now only play the game as another user but without access to all his progress.

Can someone advise, or inform me where I should get help with this issue?

I have raised a call recently with Minecraft support but they couldn't help and gave me this webpage to log a bug report.
