Minecraft Windows PC Nether teleportation

      In my survival. I have 2 separate houses. Both are around 2000 blocks between them so i use the Nether for quick travel. 
      I had issues with teleportation before, that was resolved. 
      However, Upon entering my nether portal i had ended up 9000 blocks away from where i should have been and when i look behind me. I had spawned in the nether with NO nether portal behind me. 
      I have used the nether portal too many times to count and this has NEVER happened. 

       

      UPDATE!! The portal appeared after a game restart. Went in and i'm now 76 thousand blocks away
