The nether portal teleports me to the same coordinates that I am in in the overworld.

      The nether portal teleports me from the overworld to the nether but the same coordinates are maintained for example I am at 6000 in the overworld and it should take me to 800 in the nether but it takes me to the 6000 coordinate and if that does not happen it closes the game.
