The new underwater fog matches the Java Edition color, but it doesn't account for the different biome colors. Most predominant biomes on Bedrock have unique water colors, and the new fog is a direct downgrade.

This can be observed easily on biomes such as deserts, warm oceans, taigas, swamps, the End dimension, the Nether dimension, mushroom islands, and even the default water.
