When holding a crossbow, trident, or a shield it will show it, however it will glitch and it will make it appear not exactly in your hand. Sometimes in your leg, upper arm, forehead, pretty much everywhere. here is a picture for reference. My friend and I thought that it was his fault because it only happened in worlds where he was in but the other day I found a TikTok video of someone having the same issue also on bedrock. It is not just us who sees this, everyone else on the realm that the picture was taken on can see it too. It tends to start when you switch skins however it is not isolated to that.
