Prior to colliding with a block and landing with an elytra, the player's hitbox fails to render as their 2 block tall "standard" hitbox and instead renders as their 1 block tall "gliding" hitbox. The player is still able to walk around and interact with things as normal, and the camera angle remains at 2 blocks tall.
