There is currently a bug where players with skins created from the skin editor will appear as steve and alex in multiplayer mode. For the player himself it will look like he's just normal, but at the other's perspective they will look like alex/steve. Since I wasn't able to take a screenshot I hope that this was clear enough to understand and I hope this will be fixed in the next update.
