The experience of exploring caves with Ray Tracing on is significantly hindered by caves constantly being fully lit by daylight while exploring them. This is due to light leaks caused by chunk culling underground, causing certain caves to emit light where there is no light source and where there shouldn't be any source of light.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Join this world https://www.mediafire.com/file/zz7p0p96slj5ro1/Builds_and_Stuff.mcworld/file with the PBR resource pack from below applied and with Ray Tracing on
- Set the time to 2000
- Go to 110 11 14 and look at the building
Observed Results:
Daylight is visible from the cave to the right of the building, illuminating the wall despite there being no source of light placed in the cave.
Expected Results:
Due to the cave being around 40 blocks underground and there being no physical path for light to reach it, the cave should not be emitting any light and the room around the building should be completely devoid of daylight.
You can download the PBR resource pack I used to take these screenshots and demonstrate the issue here:
