When using a dispenser to bonemeal 2x2 Spruce and Jungle saplings it will never produce a tree, Dark Oak is the only 2x2 that works. I am aware that having a block near it will sometimes make it not work but I have no issue doing this with 2x2 Spruce or Jungle saplings on Android bedrock. Now if you're telling me a phone is more comprehensive code-wise than a Switch than Nintendo really needs to up their game.
