On my account I have had a problem when I try to activate the nether portal. I am familiar with the concept of the dimensions of said portal and how it's supposed to operate. I have tried to create it in different worlds all have the same problem. I tried to create it in different modes all have the same problem. I even used the reference books to make sure I was doing it right but to no avail it still would not light. All that happens is it catches fire and burns.
