When I try and join my friend's minecraft world (not a realm), I am stuck in the 'Generating World' and 'Locating server' screen and I have tried many times to join. There is a picture (not a screenshot)

      When I try and join my friend's minecraft world (not a realm), I am stuck in the 'Generating World' and 'Locating server' screen. I have tried many times to join but am unable to join the world. Underneath i have uploaded a picture of what it shows when I try and join the world (not a screen shot). Please may you fix this. Thanks.
