On Java Edition, I believe holding mouse 1 to mine/use/place would continue to work, even when swapping item with the mouse wheel. This no longer happens on Windows 10 edition. Interestingly, swapping items with the number keys works fine on Windows 10. Only changing the selected item with the mouse wheel interrupts the players action.
