Comment [ Does MCPE-16946 describe your issue? ]

No, I don't see how that issue is anything like the one I have reported here. Please see my screenshots and description. I have not been able to play minecraft in VR since last year.

Update 10Jun2021 - I did some investigation, and this issue is not fixed. See attached screenshots. I narrowed it down to exact versions affected

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Launched game with Oculus Minecraft VR app version 1.17 (and in 1.16.200) - see screenshots for on-screen VR mirror. This behaviour (and all symptoms as per the old bug report below) are the same in every version since 1.16.200
      2. Launched game with Oculus VR app version 1.16.100 - see screenshots. This works perfectly and normally, and so do all versions prior.
      3. Launched game using custom shortcut: minecraft://Mode/?OpenXR=true. Everything is the same as launching through the Oculus Minecraft VR app.

      Symptoms:

      1. With version 1.16.200 and later (including 1.17 - latest release) - the main menu in VR is backwards / behind me and out of reach. If I reach up and behind it and launch the game, a huge array of messed up controls and things happen as per the old report below.
      2. It seems that when I'm wearing the VR headset - the game switches to 'vr mode' and you see a narrow windowed view mirrored on the PC screen.
      3. When I'm not wearing the VR headset - it seems like the game switches to the 'pc only mode'. This behaviour doesn't happen with version 1.16.100 and earlier.

      Original bug report:

My game broke in two stages, the first I noticed a few weeks back the menu locations in VR changed such that the hotbar would always get in the way of mining and I would constantly click on it by accident. The hotbar while on a horse would be in the middle of the screen. It was ALMOST unplayable at this point already.

Stage 2 happened with the latest update making the game 100% unplayable, here are the details:

      • Using Oculus VR app (have used it for 100s of hours in past)
      • When the game first loads, the very first menu is located behind me, and above me (so I'm behind the menu). I had to really stretch and reach to use the menu to load one of my worlds
      • The sound was too quiet, but when I push the oculus button to go to the oculus menu, the sound got louder
      • The windowed screen on my PC was strange - too narrow, didn't look right.
      • The VR TV screen / living room you first see when you load a world was all messed up, and my location in the room was somewhere almost under the floor. I pushed the button to go into the 3D VR view
      • The controls were messed up - turning would have me rotating in a wide arc, rather than turning on spot
      • The position of my character was nearly inside the floor
      • I couldn't really do much more

This has not been resolved, and the game is still unplayable unfortunately
