The bug
MCPE-96258 hasn’t fully been fixed, lodestone compasses are still consumed when used on a different lodestone in creative mode. On java, if you use a lodestone compass on a different lodestone that it is linked to, you will get a new one, instead of having the old one replaced. But if you use it on the lodestone, that it is linked to, you won’t get an additional lodestone.
How to reproduce:
- Place two lodestones
- Use a compass on it in creative mode
- Use the lodestone compass on the other lodestone
The lodestone compass got replaced by a lodestone compass, that is linked to it, instead of getting a new compass.
