Unable to update to the current 1.16.100 version

      I am unable to update to the newest version of Minecraft (1.16.100). It is supposed to update automatically but this time it didn't and when i go to see if i have any updates their are none for Minecraft. I am playing on Windows 10 btw. plz help, i am unable to join any of my friends worlds, and they are unable to join any of mine.
