Wearing elytra enchanted or non-enchanted causes major frame rate drops; usually drops from 60 down to the lowest of 6 or 8. To replicate wear elytra and do any of the actions in the parentheses and you will see the frames drop. (Flying, Sprinting, Crouching) The only action that I haven't seen effected by the bug is normal walking.
