When falling from a place high enough to take fall damage, the time between blocks being auto placed by holding right click speeds up. I believe that this is intended, but it makes placing water beneath me to break my fall almost impossible, because the auto placing is so fast that when I only click once, it places the water and then puts it back into the bucket before I hit the ground, and I still take fall damage.
