Before the situation started, everything was perfectly normal. The game was on hard difficulty. After visiting the nether looking for striders, I realized the only mobs that were spawning were piglins and hoglins. I then returned to the Overworld to notice that no hostile mobs were spawning at all.

I tried to find solutions, such as /gamerule domobspawning true, and changing the difficulty, and playing with the world difficulty. No solutions worked. I then copied the world and joined the new one and the mobs started spawning again, I then went to the Nether, encountered a magma cube, killed it, then a minute later all the hostile mobs disappeared again as if it randomly went into peaceful mode despite the world settings displaying "hard."

...I'd rather not play not being able to step foot in the Nether without the entire game being switched to peaceful against my will.
