No up/down arrows after flying through a nether portal

      When I enter the nether after flying threw the portal in Creative, I notice I am still flying but there is no up/down arrows. Pressing the jump button just makes you fly higher. Flying threw the portal back to the over world causes flight arrows to disappear to. See photos attached.
